Rima Das’s Village Rockstars won 70 international awards and was India’s Oscar entry. Her equally moving and sensitive sequel catches up with the same cast of young people, now teenagers. Dhunu still chases her childhood dreams of being in her own rock band, but is challenged by the potentially crushing realities of village life in Assam, from climate change, land grabbers, to holding her family together.
